Central Great Plains Reptiles and Amphibians by Month

Prairie, farm ponds and wooded creeks cover the Central Great Plains. Woodhouse's Toads and Plains Leopard Frogs call from the ponds in spring. Common Snapping Turtles and Three-toed Box Turtles show up on roads. Eastern Collared Lizards sun on rocky hillsides. April is the busiest month.
